1.
Sweep daily to remove dust or abrasive material.
2. Spray a light coat of hardwood floor
cleaner/bona-kemi over the soiled area.
3. Mop floor in the same direction
of the flooring boards in a back & forth motion,
cleaning a small area at a time before starting another
section.
4. Never pour cleaner directly onto
the flooring surface to avoid infiltration and wood
floor damage.
Thing
to Avoid:
A.
Never pour any liquid or cleaner directly onto
the floor.
B. Do not use a wet mop that leaves
excess water on the floor.
C. Do not use oil-based detergents
or other household cleaning agents on your floors since
these products may dull or damage the finish. Leave
a greasy film that makes the floor slippery making maintenance
more difficult.
D. Do not raise or lower the temperature
of sub floor radiant heat system by more than 5 degrees
per day when turning system on or off. The flooring
surface must never exceed 80 degrees.

We
recommend that you:
A.
Sweep regularly to remove dust and eliminate abrasives
that can scratch the finish.
B. Quickly wipe spills from the floor
to protect from excess liquids.
C. Use mats inside and outside entrances
to prevent sand and abrasive build up on the floor. Avoid
rubber backed mats or other dense backings that prevent
air flow beneath rugs and retain adhesives and moisture.
D. Use mats near the sink, dishwasher
and workstations to protect the floor from cooking utensils,
water spills, detergents, oils and other kitchen mishaps.
E. Stick felt pads under any furniture
or chair legs to ease movement and prevent scratches.
Keep pads clean at all times and regularly check them
for wear.
F. Protect your floor when moving heavy
objects. Place on a reversed mat with a smaller sheet
of plywood and slide smoothly over floor.
G. Be careful with spiked heels and sport
shoes that may damage the finish of your floor, especially
if they worn or damaged.
H. After water and sand, spiked heels
are the worst enemies of hardwood floors.
I. Maintain relative humidity level around
45% for your good health, your floor and your household
furnishings. Wood is a natural material that reacts to
relative humidity variations when moisture is absorbed
or released.
J. The “Sun Shading Phenomenon”
that cases flooring to darken or lighten in time is natural
and normal phenomenon.
